This article mentions the Wikimedia Foundation, one of its projects, or people related to it. Wikinews is a project of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Four years ago, on February 9, a major Polish newspaper, Gazeta Wyborcza published a report detailing a hoax in Polish Wikipedia entitled Henryk Batuta. The author of the report was Konrad Godlewski; several weeks later, Godlewski began editing Polish Wikipedia. The results of his work include one featured article – pismo chi?skie (Polish for “Chinese character”) – as well as various articles relating to China.

During our interview, Godlewski discusses memes, hoaxes, and the Batuta Army – the creators of the hoax his paper reported on. From February this year, a special project on the Polish Wikipedia, BATUTA, saw a makeshift taskforce work on improving the quality of content. BATUTA stands for “Bezwzgl?dna Akcja Troskliwego U?ród?awiania Tysi?cy artyk?ów”, roughly translated as “Ruthless Action of Carefully Adding References to Thousands of Articles”.

Queensland state Premier announces March 24 election date

Queensland’s premier Anna Bligh has announced the state is to hold its elections on Saturday, March 24; however, in an unusual move, she did not advise the governor to issue the writs for the election.

“I intend to call the 2012 State election for Saturday the 24th of March,” said Bligh, Leader of the incumbent Australian Labor Party.

Local government elections, originally scheduled for March 31, will now be scheduled for late April.

“Why are 73 local government elections around Queensland being pushed back? That adds more months of uncertainty when she has had a year to separate out the two elections,” said Leader of the Liberal National Party, Campbell Newman. Newman will have to win the seat of Ashgrove if he is to become premier.

The two major parties are expected to face some strong competition in a number of seats from the Greens, the recently formed Katter’s Australian Party, and independent candidates.

“There is undeniably a strong mood to change the government, but voters should not feel forced into giving up on their progressive views or their desire for some long-term vision and a more principled approach to politics,” said Greens lead candidate Adam Stone who is contesting the Mt Coot-tha seat.

The election process is expected to formally get underway on February 19 when the premier expects to advise the governor to issue the required writs.

The U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled more products over the last few days, though not all because of excessive lead.

While American toy companies have been rocked in the last few months by numerous unsafe Chinese-made products, mostly due to excessive amounts of lead in paint, a few of the latest recalls were actually due to design flaws.

Also recently recalled are sunglasses and toy cars from the Dollar General chain of price-point retailers.

What is Polaris-Laser Elevator advantage over other procedures and operations?

The next line of treatment to address the problem of sagging skin is to use some form of skin tightening device. There are a lot of the market and includes devices such as Refirme, Titan, and Thermage. Titan uses infrared (IR) to tighten skin, Thermage uses a unipolar radiofrequency energy (RF) Refirme using IR and bipolar RF. ReFirme or Polaris-Laser Lift / elevator is one of the most popular FDA approved nonablative procedures for maintaining a youthful appearance of the skin too long. Unlike Thermage, it uses a laser with radio frequency energy and pulsed light. The last method of skin tightening laser skin covers laying. Older methods include not fractionalised erbium or CO2 laser. Newer methods include the secure erbium profractional with technology, Fraxel or Active Fx gold standard CO2 laser fractionalised. Many doctors, including myself believe the treatment (surgical and nonsurgical) to get the best combination to strengthen the results. Refirme (called Polaris) is probably my favorite method because it is not particularly painful, with rejuvenation to laser does not cause any damage to the skin and then have a lot of experience in the cosmetic market.

Why do you like the Polaris-Laser Lift / elevator, in comparison with other RF devices?

The box says: “This innovative system includes three forms of energy, improve skin texture and skin color, but I do technically as Polaris RF, since it uses bipolar radio frequency, which has been proven to safely and efficiently than a monopoly. Unlike the less regulated and less secure a monopoly, bipolar RF not travel through the body, which means that each treatment can be applied to a computer system to control the depth and extent of the heating process, so the technology can mobilize the power of specific skin depth is more precise treatment. Tripolar newer devices may even seem better again. I also love the way RF can cause collagen to tighten and contract within a certain period of time while the laser diode may help reduce other problems such as redness and brown pigment spots. The procedure is also quick and bloodless. It is common to have four separate sessions of the treatment is carried out for three weeks. This is driven by many celebrities including Madonna and Felicity Kendall.

How does the Polaris RF system really work?

No one really knows how the system works, but we believe radio frequency (RF below) passes electrical energy produced by tissue resistance to heat deeper within the dermis. The thermal energy beam can be precisely controlled by computer to three-dimensional volume evenly collagen tissue controlled depth. This energy causes immediate collagen denaturation of triple-helix, which is believed to be a direct mechanism of tissue shrinkage. Also, after the formation of new collagen (neocollagenesis) within the next month, which further tightens the dermal tissue and reduces wrinkles.

What is Polaris-Laser Elevator advantage over other procedures and operations?

To begin, it is completely noninvasive. This means no incisions and no evidence so far after tissue damage. There is no bleeding or bruising and the risk of scarring is minimal. The level of control can be achieved with the Polaris, the difficulty with other drugs. He uses three different forms of energy to achieve a number of skin problems. This means we can see an improvement in wrinkles, sagging and discoloration. There may be areas of minor swelling or redness, which quickly disappears after a few days. Makeup can be applied immediately. You can resume all normal activities immediately. Fully implement their treatment occurs within a few months after the procedure and can be expected to take several months or years. As with any cosmetic procedure, the results can be expected to disappear gradually over a period of time during which the procedure can be repeated if desired.

Is it painful?

Polaris laser-lift can be performed with topical anesthetic cream applied about an hour before treatment. Some patients do not need anesthetic cream on cooling has a cold stream of air hits the skin during treatment. When the machine is pulsed, patients feel a brief heat treatment instead of a direct cooling effect of air currents. For those patients who are extremely sensitive, an anesthetic topical cream is recommended.

What results can you expect?

As with all RF devices, it is difficult to assess. Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients, the results are gradual over 3-6 months, as the skin tightens and more new collagen is formed gradually. Depending on the surface of the skin and play the desired results, multiple treatments may be required. Skin will continue to age, as in the past and, ultimately, you have another anti-aging process. Most patients will see the fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth filling, and deep frown lines and grooves softened. Skin and skin along the neck can be tightened to provide a lightweight, non-surgical browlift or reorganization effects. This tightening effect can be used in business to loose or sagging tissue of other parts of the body. Polaris is the same deep tissue heating may also have benefits in treating acne, acne scars and stretch marks. Redness and brown blotchiness gradually improve 2-3 months after treatment is completed. Worldwide, the security of this procedure has very few adverse effects so far.

How much does it cost?

Polaris expensive equipment (more than 100k euros), and Ireland is the only one. It normally costs 350 euro per treatment and five in 1250 expenditure in the euro group. However, the economic downturn Ailesbury has fallen for the treatment of 200 euros or 4,800 euros.

Dr. Treacy is the Medical Director of the Ailesbury Clinic International Ltd. He is also Medical Director of Cosmetic Medical Group. Toyota announced on Friday that it will recall around 17,000 Lexus vehicles in response to risks of the fuel tank in the cars leaking after a collision.

The Lexus HS 250h model was subjected to the recall following a US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation. Despite previously passing Toyota safety inspections, the conclusions of an NHTSA sub-contracted investigator were that; when the vehicles in question collided with an object at more than fifty-miles-per hour, more than 142 grams of fuel, the maximum allowed by US law, leaked from the crashed car.

According to Toyota, further tests did not show any additional failure of the fuel tank.

In response to the findings, Toyota issued a recall of all affected vehicles, since the company had no solution immediately available. The recall includes 13,000 cars already sold, as well as another 4,000 still at dealerships.

Toyota says it plans to conduct further tests to determine the cause of the leak. A Toyota spokesman, Brian Lyons, said that the company was “still working to determine what the root cause of the condition is.” It’s still unclear when exactly the recall will take place, or when dealerships will be allowed to sell this model again. Lyons said that Toyota is “working feverishly to get this resolved as soon as possible.”

Toyota isn’t aware of any accidents stemming from the leaking fuel tank in the affected vehicles, first introduced in the summer of 2009.

Investigators say that flaws in the design of the Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota may have caused it to collapse and that the design flaw is not “unique” to the Minneapolis bridge.

According to an ongoing investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the flaw was found in the steel plates connected to girders, which are large support beams used in construction and connect the plates together. It is reported that extra stress from construction equipment might have caused the plates to separate, causing the bridge to collapse.

The flaw has not yet been confirmed to be the source of the disaster, and the NTSB says that the investigation could take several months to fully be completed.

At least six people were killed and at least eight are missing, whilst over 100 are injured after the bridge collapsed on August 1.
